Novice is based on points earned per class. Rider may not have earned more than 10 points at any breed show or 15 at pnwrha shows, or earned more than $500 in prize money in the class entered. These points are tallied from all divisions, not just novice classes. Riders who point out during the show year may continue to finish the year as a novice rider.

Walk Trot division is open to any age youth or amateur. For this first year only, we are allowing novice riders to cross enter walk trot and walk trot lope classes. We do realize there will be some novice riders with more experience in the show ring, but hope that you will follow the honor system and leave this class for those who need it to help gain confidence in the ring. There is no time limit for riding in walk trot, and an individual may continue to show walk trot for their lifetime.
